ABOUT THIS COURSE
Making a delicious meal, which improves health, normalizes body weight and general well-being is a modern life essential and it’s possible without leaving your kitchen. You will learn the basic principles of authentic Āyurvedic cooking method in weekly zoom sessions under the guidance of Āyurveda professional Linda Zariņa, who has the experience of weekly cooking classes running for 3 years at Shiva’s Center.
Every session is an independent tutorial of an Āyurvedic recipe or two with an additional information on the Āyurvedic cooking method that will turn every meal into the benefit to your health. You will master the topics like the compatibility of different products, the importance of six flavors on your plate, most favourable eating habits for each type of human constitution (dosha), techniques for keeping healthy digestive system, just to name a few. If you choose to participate in classes on weekly basis, you will build yourself a set of basic Āyurvedic recipes which might result in a cookbook for your personal use, including broad knowledge on various spices, shopping tips for good quality products used in Āyurveda as we move along with each recipe.
Particular attention will be paid to the diet recommendations for pregnant and postpartum mothers, as well as children, who adopt a vegetarian lifestyle. The interconnection between cooking and other vedic sciences will be pionted out during the sessions, like the importance of cardinal directions while cooking, the location of the kitchen in the house and its impact on human life.
